Best 12-Key Typing v1.7
Is it impossible to make real-time SMS communications with 12-key cell phone?
Korean language has already made it possible.
Now English challenges it with this software, which can run on windows OS.
Every letter is writable within 2 strokes.
The arrangement of consonants and vowels is so effective
that the speed can be maximized.
(method to input a letter)
- First letters (d,h,l,n,r,s,t,a,e,i,o) : 1 strike the key
- Second letters (c,f,g,m,p,w,y,.,?,,,u) : double_click the key
- Third letters (b,j,k,q,v,x,z,:,;,',-) : 1 strike the key and 1 strike [alt] key
- To change to upper case : double_click [alt] key - added in v1.5

ways of typing comparable with above one(1st way).
(2nd way)
- First letters : 1 strike the key
- Second letters : 1 strike the key and 1 strike [alt] key
- Third letters : 1 strike the key and 2 strike [alt] key
Comment :
2nd way is perfect and has no defects.
Everything is natural and consistent. The speed can be
stably improved without the burden of a break or swiftly striking.
As tested, however, 1st way is faster.
1st way is better from the viewpoint of speed
and 2nd way is better from the viewpoint of stability.
Pressing [alt] key is not much burden under double-hand striking.
Comment of the keys arrangement :
The keys arrangement is orderly and has reasons.
The most frequently used consonants - d,h,l,n,r,s,t - are placed
at first, next at second, others at third, alphabetically.
From the viewpoint of the frequencies,
over 96% of letters are placed within second place.
Also, common used letters - tion,sh,th,ch,wh,nt,rt,etc -
are adequately arranged to be pressed easily.
And 'an','en','in' are distant
but rather easier under double-hand striking.
(3rd way)
- First letters : 1 strike the key
- Second letters : double_click the key
- Third letters : triple_click the key
- To change to upper case : 1 strike [alt] key, if any - added in v1.5
Comment :
3rd way is the simplest and, once mastered, is the fastest
especially in following [other arrange].
Triple_click, though not familiar to most peope at first,
is not much burden because the time gap
can be tailored to each's skill.
(4th way)
- First letters : 1 strike the key
- Second letters : 1 strike the key and 1 strike left [alt] key
- Third letters : 1 strike the key and 1 strike right [alt] key
Comment :
4th way, though 2 [alt] key, is free from a break or swiftly striking,
keeping every letter within 2 strokes,
deserves to be considered.
(5th way) - added in v1.4
First letters : 1 strike the key
Second letters : 2 strike the key
Third letters : 3 strike the key
In case of 'rr','oo',etc : 1 strike [alt] key in between
To change to upper case : 2 strike [alt] key - added in v1.5
Comment :
If keys arrangement is effective enough like one in following
[other arrange], 5th way is as fast as 1st way once mastered.
This way is more consistent than 1st way.
other arrange - revised in v1.3, v1.4, V1.7 <=== recommended
If this menu is checked, another keys arrangement appears.
This is one of the faster ways that we could find
if we discard the alphabetic order.
- 'blank', usable instead of 'Space', is included inside 12keys.
- 'y' is like 'i', thus grouped with 'i'
to secure a room for 'blank'.
- The consonants are arranged to input smoothly
continuous consonants as follows :
- To input smoothly 'th','sh','wh','ch','gh','ph', 'h' is on the center and others surround it.
- To input smoothly 'nd','nt','ng', they are close
to each other.
- The most common last consonants - s, t, d, n , r -
are, as far as possible, close to 'blank'.
- The other continuous consonants,
as far as possible, can also be inputted smoothly.
- It is designed to be optimum
under double-hand striking.
- Under double-hand striking, left keys are to be pressed
by left hand, rights keys by right hand, and center keys
depend on your preferences and the conveniences.
For example, in 'the' and 'right', it is convenient to press
't' and 'g' by left hand. But in 'tree' and 'green',
it is convenient to press 't' and 'g' by right hand.
Comment :
It is considerably faster once mastered with the speed
near that of computer typing, each, in 1st way, in 2nd way,
in 3th way, and in 5th way, under double-hand striking.
time gap
You can customize the time gap for double_click or triple_click.
Game
You can practice typing on [Game] menu.
- start/stop : start or stop the game
- 1/2/3/4 letters etc : select how many letters or sentence.
- sound 1/2/no : select sound after you type correctly.
Key Editor
By pressing [Help/key editor] menu,
you can directly change or create the keys arrangement.
